Deanna Kyrimis is an accomplished healthcare executive currently residing in the Pacific Northwest. Kyrimis is a collaborative, personable, and strategic executive with over two decades of high-level experience in healthcare system strategy and operations. Recognized for her contributions to the healthcare industry and particularly to the underserved, vulnerable, and special needs populations, she has championed innovative models of care designed to provide healthcare to all that puts patients first, offers reliable quality, and seeks to align payers, providers, systems, and patients. Pyramids have been passionate about innovative models of care since joining the first accountable care organization in Arizona in 2012. Since then, she has developed multi-state strategies driving high quality, reduced cost of care, and world-class support services across integrated networks of hospitals, physicians, and ancillary providers.

Washington-based Kyrimis graduated from several prestigious educational institutions, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she is completing her doctorate of science degree, and the University of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. It’s from the University of Oxford that she holds her master’s degree in organizational leadership.

Kyrimis is closely involved with numerous charities, nonprofit organizations, and other good causes. Away from her work and charitable endeavors, she enjoys traveling with her family and various hobbies. Among her favorite and longest-standing hobbies is Taekwondo. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time in nature.

Deanna Kyrimis is Vice President with CommonSpirit: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington. Kyrimis is responsible for executive oversight of the renowned Virginia Mason Medical Center’s hospital operations, including perioperative and procedural services, outpatient and ambulatory surgery centers, specialty physician enterprises, and more.

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health provides high-quality, state-of-the-art health and medical care across the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, CommonSpirit Health is the most extensive Catholic health system in the United States. It operates over 1,000 care sites in 21 states, including CommonSpirit: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington.

Career History

Before joining CommonSpirit: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Kyrimis was the Chief Operating Officer of Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, California. As COO of Barton Health, she oversaw the California-based healthcare system’s five-star hospital operations, support services, multi-specialty medical groups, accountable care and management services organizations, and ambulatory care network.

From 2014 until 2018, Kyrimis was the Chief Executive Officer of Palomar Health Medical Group in northern San Diego County, formerly Arch Health Medical Group. Palomar Health Medical Group is affiliated with the most prominent health district in California, Palomar Health. Elsewhere, between 2012 and 2014, she served as the CEO of Lovelace Health System’s integrated medical group and was a member of the Heart Hospital’s joint operating committee overseeing strategy, operations, quality, clinical innovation, and finance, formerly known as New Mexico Heart Institute and Heart Hospital.

Before that, Kyrimis spent nearly a decade at Cardiovascular Consultants in Arizona, where she served in executive roles, including CEO from 2003 until 2012. Cardiovascular Consultants is a leading specialty heart and vascular enterprise in Phoenix, jointly operating Heart and Vascular Institutes across nine hospitals through its clinically integrated model of care. Kyrimis developed the hub and spoke delivery system to maintain patients within a high-value network of bundled payment, managed, and accountable care arrangements. Under her leadership, the enterprise grew its managed care lives alongside hospital partnerships designed to reduce outmigration and drive quality.

2012 Kyrimis graduated from the University of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. She graduated from the University of Oxford with a master’s in organizational leadership. UCI Paul Merage School of Business

From 2009 until 2011, Kyrimis studied at the University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business. The renowned business school is one of the University of California, Irvine’s 14 academic units. She graduated from UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business with a master of business degree in healthcare administration.

Arizona State University

In 2009, Kyrimis graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She studied at Arizona State University for four years, enrolled in 2005, and was a member of Barrett, The Honors College conducting research in the Psychology and Law Laboratory. Charitable Involvement

Deanna Kyrimis is closely involved with numerous good causes. Among these good causes are the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women, having served on the committee for four years. She has also been the chairperson of Go Red for Women’s Heart Ball and has served as the Chair for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality, and was a member of the Integrated Healthcare Association’s governance committee. Among the various charities, nonprofit organizations, and good causes supported by Kyrimis is Green Valley Church, where she has been a member since 2015.

Personal Life

Kyrimis was born in the Wolverine State of Michigan and raised in the Grand Canyon State of Arizona. She currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Paul. Outside of her work and charitable efforts, she enjoys spending time with her adult children, various hobbies, and other interests. Among these hobbies and interests are reading, travel, spending time in the great outdoors, and martial arts.

Kyrimis is a Taekwondo third-degree black belt, now involved with the iconic Korean martial art for over 25 years. She revels in Taekwondo’s values of modesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, and perseverance. She credits the martial arts way of life with bolstering her indomitable spirit – a valuable asset in her career and personal life.
